Waxahachie Preparatory Academy is a distinctly Christian Collegiate-Style Hybrid School, partners with parents to provide students a Christ-centered education through rigorous academics, an active school culture, and the cultivation of spiritual growth producing a life of faith in and obedience to Jesus. Our aim is to partner with parents to develop bold, empowered Christ-followers who discern and pursue their God-given calling. In July, 2000, two Ellis County families, recognizing the need for an independent and distinctively Christian School in the community, began the difficult task of planning and working to start a new school. Their work, their prayers, their sacrifice and their service resulted in the opening of Waxahachie Preparatory Academy, a Collegiate-Style Hybrid School, in the fall of 2001. Waxahachie Prep initially utilized space leased from Waxahachie Bible Church. In June of 2012, the school moved to Heritage Baptist Church in Waxahachie. In July of 2022, Waxahachie Prep moved to its current home, 1116 Brown St., Waxahachie, Texas. Waxahachie Prep became a certified school in 2003 and was re-certified on several occasions since then. We achieved full accreditation with SACS (The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; now known as AdvancED) in 2008 and re-accredited in 2013 and 2018. Waxahachie Prep was accredited by ACSI, the Association of Christian Schools International in 2020. The passion and vision that birthed the school in 2001 remains strong as Waxahachie Prep approaches the end of our second decade of serving the Christian families in our community. Waxahachie Prep alumni can be found, literally, across the nation and around the world, serving their community, their country, the Body of Christ, and their fellow man.
