WaxWorks was founded in 1949 as a music retail store, which expanded to a national chain of company owned stores that operated in 37 states. The retail stores were sold to Trans World Entertainment in 2000.

WaxWorks entered the Video Distribution business in 1980 at the introduction of the VCR and has maintained a distribution relationship with all of the major film studios and most of the small
er independent studios.

In 2006, WaxWorks started a new company, Team Marketing, to concentrate on the sports market. Team Marketing is now the largest holder of licenses for college sports and NASCAR video in the nation.

The combination of our studio distributed videos and our exclusive titles has allowed us to gain access to every major retail account, as well as the smaller retailers which comprise over half of the sales in the sports market.
