West Bromwich Albion Football Club, also known as ‘West Brom,’ ‘The Baggies,’ ‘The Throstles,’ ‘Albion,’ or ‘WBA’ is a professional English football club based in the West Midlands. Founded as the West Bromwich Strollers by workers at George Salter Spring Works in West Bromwich, the club known for their colourful blue and white stripes was formed in 1878 and renamed three years later, becoming the first team to adopt the Albion suffix.

WBA were one of the founding members of the Football League in 1888 and have spent the majority of their existence in the top tier of football. Early English champions in 1919–20, they have had yet more successes in the FA Cup with a total of five wins - the first in 1888, the founding year of the league, and most recently in 1968. They also won the Football League Cup at their first attempt in 1966.
