The West Midlands Growth Company acts as the region’s lead body for attracting investment and coordinating how the West Midlands is presented to visitors. It brings together public authorities, businesses, and universities—backed by the West Midlands Combined Authority, seven metropolitan authorities, and five universities—to pursue growth that is sustainable and inclusive. Its objective is to draw in investment, help firms establish operations, and encourage tourism to boost the economy and create jobs, improving local quality of life. The organization is based in Birmingham, operates in the government relations arena, and works with regional public bodies, industry partners, and academic institutions. In October 2024 it launched a regional branding and investment initiative called It Starts Here to raise the West Midlands’ international profile.
