The Western Bay of Plenty is one of the fastest growing District's in New Zealand, with a population of approximately 50,100 people. 

Our stunning District covers 212,000 hectares of coastal, rural and urban areas. It's renowned as the largest provider of kiwifruit and avocados in New Zealand while also having thriving urban centres such as Waihī Beach (a popular summer holiday destination), Ōmokoroa (a fast-growing harbourside community), Katikati (famous for its murals), Te Puna (home to one of the District’s leading business hubs), Te Puke (globally known as the Kiwifruit Capital of the World) and Maketu (a relaxed seaside community).
