Western Nephrology is a nephrology practice established in 1968 that began by serving Lutheran Medical Center and St. Anthony Central Hospitals. In 1973 the group expanded to provide both inpatient and outpatient dialysis services in the West Denver metropolitan region. Over the following decades, it built outpatient dialysis centers in Boulder, Arvada, Brighton, Lakewood, Longmont, and Westminster and extended inpatient dialysis coverage to eight hospitals and two rehabilitation facilities in the Northwest Denver area and surrounding counties.

Today Western Nephrology delivers consultative nephrology and inpatient dialysis across several regional hospitals and partners with Innovative Renal Care to provide medical director and attending physician services at eight dialysis clinics and a home dialysis program. The practice employs board-certified nephrologists and advanced practitioners, with a research department in Arvada and an administrative office in Wheat Ridge to support credentialing and information systems.
