Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging is a private non-profit designated by the State of Ohio to plan, coordinate, and administer federal and state aging programs for five counties in the Cleveland area: Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina. It is one of twelve Area Agencies on Aging in Ohio and works within the public aging services network formed with local service providers and the Ohio Department of Aging to develop long-term services and supports and to help older residents age in place in their homes and communities. It undertakes special projects to address identified needs, including improving transitions between care settings for long-term care consumers and promoting prevention, health self-management, and wellness. It also collaborates with the Department of Veterans Affairs to assist veterans with dementia. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, the agency serves five counties in the region. A recent development reported in March 2026 noted that the organization closed its downtown Cleveland offices and planned to relocate to a prominent location outside the city.
