Westlake High School is a public 9thβ12th grade secondary school located in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, and is part of the Fulton County School System; the campus employs between 51 and 200 staff. The school was established in 1988 through the consolidation of Westwood and Lakeshore High Schools, initially operating at the former Westwood facility before moving in 2008 to a new building adjacent to the old campus. Westlake offers a magnet program focused on mathematics, science, engineering, and media-based careers, along with a STEAM curriculum that includes partnerships with universities and businesses to provide instructional and internship experiences. In August 2017, the International Baccalaureate program was incorporated, with students able to pursue either the full IB Diploma or a certificate. The school's mission emphasizes empowering students to become independent, lifelong learners within a rigorous curriculum and an environment that supports both student learning and teacher instruction.
