Westminster Abbey is a historic religious institution in London that functions as a place of daily worship and a ceremonial and cultural landmark. It has hosted every coronation since 1066 and serves as a memorial space for many notable figures from politics, science, literature, and the arts. The abbey draws more than a million visitors annually and relies on a community of clergy, musicians, vergers, conservators, stonemasons, teachers, visitor welcome and security staff, supported by volunteers. Beyond worship and visitation, Westminster Abbey oversees the Westminster Abbey Institute, which aims to renew faith in public life, and the Abbey's Foundation, which funds preservation of the abbey, its collections and musical heritage. The site is located in London and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2024 it launched Notre Dame de Paris, The Augmented Exhibition, a world-touring immersive exhibition.
