Westside Community Services is a mid-sized San Francisco organization delivering mental health care and related supports to youth and adults affected by poverty, violence, substance use, and HIV/AIDS. It serves African American and diverse underserved minority communities in the Western Addition, Bayview, and South of Market neighborhoods. Each year, more than 3,500 individuals access its free services, with most families living below the poverty line. The organization operates within the city’s mental health care landscape and collaborates with public agencies to expand access to substance use treatment and related recovery supports, including partnerships with the San Francisco Human Services Agency. In January 2025, the Treatment Pathway Initiative was launched in collaboration with the San Francisco Human Services Agency to support individuals with substance use disorders on their recovery journey.
