Wheego Electric Cars is now Wheego Technologies.

Wheego develops emerging vehicle technologies. Under the leadership of Mike McQuary, CEO and former MindSpring/EarthLink entrepreneur, Wheego has become a leader in the design and implementation of advanced automotive technologies. Founded in 2008, Wheego developed, manufactured and sold the all-electric LiFe car, marking the first time a Chinese chassis vehicle was successfully modified to pass full speed U.S. homologation and crash-testing. Beginning in 2014, Wheego turned its focus to the challenge of autonomous vehicle development. Wheego has a research and development team with expertise in machine learning, self-driving vehicles, and connected devices for home, business and roadway.   

In November 2016, Wheego  changed its name from Wheego Electric Cars, Inc. to Wheego Technologies, Inc. to better reflect its expanded scope of business. The team includes industry experts in artificial intelligence, networked communications and autonomous driving technologies. Wheego  develops products and services that advance autonomous driving. The company's goal is to create a suite of autonomous driving features that are productized and mainstreamed.

Wheego was awarded an Autonomous Vehicle Testing Permit from the California Department of Motor Vehicles. The permit allows Wheego to test its autonomous systems on public roads in California. 

Wheego Technologies is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It has a Research and Development office in Sonoma, California.
