The Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian is a nonprofit, independent museum founded in 1937 and based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It is New Mexico's oldest nonprofit, independent museum and centers its programming on Native American art, presenting both contemporary and historic works. The museum curates exhibitions that showcase Native American art across time, balancing contemporary forms with historical perspectives. Its Case Trading Post offers works by more than 200 Native American artists, along with vintage and antique jewelry, ceramics, and textiles. In 2025, the institution announced a major temporary exhibition examining activism, creativity, and the effects of military service in Native American art in the wake of the Vietnam War.
