The William L. Clements Library is one of the world’s finest early American history collections. The books, maps, manuscripts, prints, photographs, and other original resources in the Library’s holdings form a remarkable collection of primary sources on America from European exploration through the nineteenth century. 

The Library's mission is to collect and preserve primary source materials, to make them available for research, and to support, and encourage scholarly investigation of our nation’s past.
