We want to be a community of faith that is experienced as "intelligence on fire." While we can't claim to know all the answers, we believe that learning and action are two essential aspects of our worship.
 
Williamsburg Baptist has been around since 1828, and today, we are as committed as ever to embodying what is called "Beloved Community." We want to become Good News for each other and for our community. In this holistic, Gospel-witness, we encounter the love of God in this life and beyond. 

Our vision at WBC is to follow Christ together, worshiping, learning, and extending God's welcome to all as a Beloved Community. You might guess that we're a moderate-to-progressive community of faith. We think of ourselves as a different kind of Baptist church, because we believe that science, diversity, and social justice as well as historic, Baptist principles of freedom of conscience and the separation of church and state are important to faith and life.
