WDMA is a trade association representing leading manufacturers of residential and commercial windows, doors, and skylights for both domestic and export markets. Members focus on products designed and built to performance-based standards, supported by the association’s work in advocacy, product performance information, education, and industry networking within the fenestration ecosystem. Based in Washington, DC, the organization was founded in 1927 and operates as a mid-sized player in the wholesale building materials sector.

In the wholesale building materials industry, WDMA supports its members through standards development, information sharing, and facilitating business interactions across the fenestration value chain. A notable recent collaboration is a 2024 partnership with VELUX Group to exchange guidance on protecting windows, doors, and skylights from hurricane-related wind, rain, and debris. WDMA also engages in industry research and other partnerships to inform members and the broader market.
