Woburn Safari Park was opened in 1970 by the 13th Duke of Bedford and is a drive-through wild animal park. Set in over 300 acres of beautiful Bedfordshire parkland, just off junction 13 of the M1, the park offers visitors a memorable day out on safari with some of the most endangered wild animals in the world. Guests can drive through the thrilling Road Safari alongside rhinos, monkeys, giraffes, African lions, Asian elephants, antelopes, wild cattle and Amur tigers. Followed by a trip through the Foot Safari with a host of smaller mammals, amphibians, reptiles and birds in Animal Encounters. The park has a daily programme of keeper talks and demonstrations, with many of the Foot Safari animals, including birds of prey, sea lions, elephants, monkeys, lemurs, meerkats and penguins. Children of all ages will love all the free activities and attractions at the park, including Swan Boats, the Great Woburn Railway, the Mammoth Play Ark indoor soft play centre and the Tiny Tots Safari Trail giant bouncy castle. The Safari Lodge is set in the heart of the Foot Safari and Leisure Area, playing host to weddings, corporate events, functions, bbq's, product launches and Christmas parties all year round.
