The Women’s Center has grown to become an important and integral partner in collaborative efforts to eradicate poverty across New York City. Our work encompasses not only direct service to low-income families, but also innovative services and support to some 300 New York City policy, advocacy, philanthropic, direct service, government, community-based, labor and educational agencies and organizations. The Women’s Center works on these two critical levels: on a “micro-level” with individuals and families who need direct assistance, and, on a “macro-level” with hundreds of other non-profit agencies. Each perspective informs and enhances the work of the other.
