WGEP is an international NGO whose mission is to build highly effective local partnerships that empower women and girls through programs in education, literacy, leadership, protecting bodily rights, reproductive health, and a supportive environment.

We operate three complementary programs aimed at dismantling the structural barriers that keep girls from attending and succeeding in school:
1. Sisters to School provides scholarships, health education, and mentoring to girls in middle school through university
2. Our Sisters Read promotes literacy and a lifelong love of learning among primary school students
3. Our Sisters Lead trains high school students in key leadership skills, and supports them in designing community development projects.

WGEP partners with dynamic, grassroots leaders to ensure that our work is community-driven, sustainable, and appropriate to the actual needs of our target communities.
