Women's Studio Workshop (WSW) is a fine arts organization based in Rosendale, New York, founded in 1974. It maintains specialized studios in printmaking, hand papermaking, silkscreen, ceramics, letterpress, photography, and book arts, and supports an artists’ workspace that fosters the voices of women and gender-diverse creators. The organization provides professional opportunities for artists at various career stages and operates programs that engage the public with the visual arts, including year-round community classes and a substantial publishing program for handmade artists’ books. WSW has helped advance the careers of hundreds of artists through its programs, offers internships for emerging artists, and hosts over twenty Summer Art Institute workshops along with cultural tourism. A notable recent development is the construction of a public terrace and outdoor exhibition space on its Rosendale campus, supported by a Mid-Size Capital Facilities grant. The organization operates in the broader visual arts education and printmaking community and positions itself as a regional hub for artist development and public engagement in the arts.
