Wong Wares is a retail art supplies business centered on pottery and ceramics, with a focus on raku ware. Based in Manitou Springs, Colorado, the studio is operated by potter Mark Wong, who has developed custom clays and glazes that pair with his throwing style to create vessels with thin walls and rapid heat radiation after firing. This specialization yields a distinctive range of color within the raku process and informs the products offered to customers seeking unique ceramic wares and related materials. The company operates in a niche segment of the broader art supplies industry, serving artisans and hobbyists who prioritize experimental techniques and handcrafted, studio-made pieces. The business appears to be small in scale and locally oriented, reflecting its workshop-based model and focused production approach in Manitou Springs. A recent development noted is the continued emphasis on Wong’s bespoke materials and techniques within the studio, underscoring the firm’s dedication to its raku-focused practice.
