Work for Warriors is a placement program within the California National Guard that directly connects California service members in the Guard and Reserve with full-time civilian employment. It serves currently serving National Guard and DoD Reserve personnel as well as Post-9/11 veterans, spouses, and Gold Star families, aligning their skills with available job opportunities.

Based in Sacramento, the program is supported by a team of service members and veterans who coordinate placements and act as resource points for employers seeking experienced hires. It counts more than 250 business partners across California. The initiative began in February 2012 when the Adjutant General worked with state leadership to set a goal of reducing unemployment among service members by 25 percent in a year, a target that was reportedly met or exceeded; by its third anniversary it had placed just under 4,000 individuals into employment.
