We work with our clients to create and maintain workplaces that reflect the highest standards of workplace safety, best leadership practices, and preparedness in the case of emergency. THE WGI STORY Our mission began more than 20 years ago, under the leadership of Dr. S. Anthony Baron, a pioneer in the field of workplace violence prevention. That initial team of mental health experts, former law enforcement professionals, and business leaders had a clear mission to serve, train and protect our communities. Our core competency has always been preventing violence in the workplace, however, over the years we have expanded our services to include leadership development, human resources, and emergency preparedness/business continuity. We believe that these are necessary components to creating and maintaining a workplace that is safe, effective, and productive. WHAT WE KNOW • An organization’s most important asset is its people. • Prevention of workplace violence is everyone’s responsibility but starts with leadership action. • Workplace violence prevention is not just a compliance issue; it’s also a quality of life issue. • The most effective approach to workplace violence prevention is a balance of strong policies and procedures, security and safety measures, training, compliance with legal requirements, good human resource practices, and positive and proactive leadership.
