World BEYOND War, based in Charlottesville, Virginia, is a nonprofit focused on public policy and peace advocacy that was founded in 2014. It operates as a global grassroots network of volunteers, activists, and allied organizations seeking to abolish war and replace it with a nonviolent, demilitarized system of security. The organization challenges the belief that war is inevitable or beneficial and pursues peace education to demilitarize security, manage conflict nonviolently, and cultivate a culture of peace. Its activities include campaigns on weapons divestment and closing military bases, along with educational offerings such as webinars, conferences, online courses, and other peace resources, and to date members in 175 countries have signed the Declaration of Peace. The network has expanded its partnerships, including an affiliation with the Another Development Foundation in Sweden in 2025 and collaborations with RootsAction, with ongoing programs like Mapping Militarism (the 2025 edition) and the no-bases online tool launched in 2022.
