The World Childhood Foundation was founded in 1999 by Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden with the mission to defend the Rights of the Child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at-risk all over the world. The mission of World Childhood Foundation is to defend the rights of children and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world. By investing in children and their families today, we prevent abuse, neglect, marginalization for years to come. Focus and target group World Childhood Foundation’s work is focused on prevention, intervention, education efforts, and advocacy. The main target groups are child victims of abuse, children living in institutions, street children and families at risk. Strategy Childhood’s strategy is to cooperate with local organizations working with children at risk of abuse. The World Childhood Foundation further act as a link between the investing donors and grass rot projects where the Foundation identifies and evaluates potential projects that are in line with its mission objectives. The evaluation process is followed up by reviews and ongoing monitoring of supported projects in order to ensure expected results and to secure the quality of the project. Childhood is presently supporting over 100 projects in 16 countries including 12 in the USA.
