World Harvest Church is a religious institution based in Canal Winchester, Ohio, with origins in a 1977 backyard Bible study that drew seventeen participants. After outgrowing initial spaces, the group moved to larger venues on Wright Road and eventually purchased land on Gender Road in southeast Franklin County, where the current facility was built; the congregation adopted the World Harvest Church name in honor of Dr. Lester Sumrall. The Columbus campus serves as a hub for multiple ministries and institutions, including Harvest Preparatory School, a K-12 school, the operational offices of Breakthrough, Pastor Rod Parsley's worldwide television program, and six other national ministries. It also houses classrooms and dormitories for Valor Christian College, integrating higher education with church activities. Today, more than 12,000 people in central Ohio consider WHC their church home, reflecting a diverse congregation spanning ages, ethnicities, and walks of life.
