Founded in 2002, Xero Flor America (XFA) is at the forefront of the North American green roof industry. We’ve been here from the start.
 
XFA is the official and exclusive distributor in the U.S. for the Xero Flor Green Roof System. While our green roof system has extensive roots in Europe, all our system components for projects in the U.S.A. are 100 percent American-made. Our green roof mats are supplied by local, independent farms located across the country. Our plants are grown with regional horticultural expertise and adapted to the regional climates where our systems are installed.
 
The Xero Flor system utilizes pre-vegetated mats based on advanced German technology — engineered, patented, and refined over more than 40 years of ongoing R&D. In Europe, where the green roof industry is long-established, Xero Flor is the technology of choice. Xero Flor has been proven successful and sustainable in tens of thousands of flourishing installations that cover hundreds of millions of square feet worldwide.
 
In the U.S., Xero Flor has been proven on many of the largest green roofs in the country — including the single biggest on any one building, the green roof on the Dearborn Truck Plant at Ford’s River Rouge Complex.
 
Options include lightweight systems weighing only 8-10 pounds per square foot to ballasted applications of 25 pounds per square foot.
