The Xunta de Galicia is the colegiated organ of the regional government of Galicia, defined by the Autonomy Statute approved in 1981. Based in Santiago de Compostela and comprising the president and ten conselleiros, it administers the community's functions through the Xunta and its dependent bodies, operating within the utilities administration sector, including regulating its own taxes, managing ceded state taxes, and drafting and applying the autonomous budget, which Parliament reviews.

It coordinates the activity of the Provincial Deputations to align with Galicia's broader interests, consolidating their budgets and, where appropriate, delegating the execution of its agreements to those deputations for transferred functions. A notable recent development is that, in March 2026, the Xunta awarded a contract to Inprotech Auto S.L. via AMTEGA for the supply, deployment and provision of services for the Industrial Cybersecurity Laboratory and Demonstration Center of Galicia, part of a joint cybersecurity initiative.
