The Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence conducts research and offers training designed to help people of all ages develop emotional intelligence skills. Headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut, it operates as a self-supporting unit within Yale School of Medicine’s Child Study Center and collaborates with experts in education, psychology, policy, and technology to develop practical approaches. Its work aims to support school communities and broader environments in understanding the role of emotions, teaching emotional intelligence, and creating positive emotional climates in homes, schools, and workplaces. The center provides training to educational leaders, teachers, and school staff to support systemic implementation of social and emotional learning and to foster emotional skills among families and those involved in out-of-school time. In 2022, it was named a recipient of the Horizons Hero Award.
