YFU Germany is a non-profit, membership-based association that coordinates long-term intercultural youth exchange programs. Each year it supports more than 1,500 students through partnerships with more than 50 countries, with support from over 4,000 volunteers and about 60 employees. As the German chapter of Youth For Understanding, it is part of a long-standing, globally active network focused on cross-cultural understanding. 

Its mission is to foster understanding across boundaries and to help young people develop into responsible members of their communities. The organisation is based in Hamburg, Germany. Within Germany's non-profit sector, YFU Germany is among the largest and oldest youth exchange organizations.
