The YMCA of Delaware is a statewide nonprofit organization focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Based in Wilmington, it serves people of all ages and ability levels across Delaware and has operated in the state for roughly 120 years. The organization employs a mid-sized workforce to support its programs and services. Its Healthy Living offerings include prevention programs such as the Diabetes Prevention Program, a year-long, classroom-based curriculum developed with Indiana University and recognized by the CDC, comprising 16 core sessions followed by 6-8 monthly follow-up meetings. Another program, the Healthy Lifestyles Behavior Change Program, was developed with Stanford University and runs 22 one-hour sessions focused on healthier eating, physical activity, and goal setting. In April 2026, the YMCA of Delaware opened a new summer day camp location in Millsboro, Delaware.
