The Ministry of the Environment of Finland is a government administration responsible for preparing proposals for decision by the Government and Parliament on issues including housing, the built environment, climate policy, biodiversity, sustainable use of natural resources, and environmental protection. Its structure comprises several departments - Natural Environment, Built Environment, Climate and Environmental Protection, Ministerial Governance and International Affairs, and Communications - and it coordinates related state bodies.

The ministry oversees state housing programs through the Centre for State-Subsidised Housing Construction, and its administrative sector includes the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE). It directs the Natural Heritage Services of Mets4hallitus and collaborates with Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment. Based in Helsinki and led by the Minister of Climate and the Environment, the ministry serves the Government and Parliament by shaping policies on environmental protection, climate action, and housing.
