Young Jains of America operates as a youth-focused arm of the Federation of Jain Associations in North America (JAINA), based in Milpitas, California, serving Jain youth ages 14 to 29. Founded in 1991, with its first biennial youth convention held in 1994, it now connects more than 10,000 members across six regions through a network of Local Representatives and Jain youth groups to host events, share resources, and build communities. As an umbrella organization, it aims to support Jain youth leadership and preserve Jain heritage across North America. Its objectives include raising awareness of Jain principles, providing a forum for sharing Jain religion, fostering pride in Jain heritage, addressing youth concerns, promoting charitable activities, preparing youth to become future leaders, and strengthening local Jain youth groups. Recent developments include the Earth to YJA Campaign launched in December 2023 to encourage environmentally sustainable daily choices, and a Bid Packet Competition introduced in January 2024 to support planning for the 2024 convention.
