YourBestFit was founded by Christine King in 1996. The company was launched based on a life-changing incident when a serious Jet Ski accident left Christine King with a broken back, paralyzed from the waist down. After the surgery, the doctors informed Christine that although her back had been repaired, they were still unsure of the amount of nerve damage and internal injuries. They couldn't say if she'd ever walk again. The doctors also told Christine that she didn't die because of the superior physical condition she was in prior to the accident. This information was the catalyst that caused Christine to change careers and educate the world about the critical importance of being healthy and fit. During several months of rehabilitation, Christine studied for and became nationally certified by the American Council on Exercise, and achieved the Post-Rehabilitative and Medical Exercise Specialist designation from the American Academy of Health Fitness and Rehab Professionals.
