YourMechanic operates a nationwide network that brings automotive repair and maintenance directly to customers at their chosen location, such as a home driveway or office parking lot. Founded in 2012 and based in Mountain View, California, the company emphasizes transparency and aims to deliver a convenient, trusted service by using technology to service any vehicle, anywhere, at any time. By coordinating mobile technicians through a cloud-based platform, it seeks to replace traditional shop infrastructure and lower costs for fleet operators while paying technicians more. The service targets individual car owners as well as commercial fleets seeking flexible, on-demand maintenance and repairs.

Within the automotive services landscape, YourMechanic positions itself as a mobile, on-demand solution capable of handling a broad range of repairs at the point of need, including large-scale fleet deployments. The company has earned industry recognition from events such as TechCrunch Disrupt SF in 2012, Women in Auto Care in 2016, and Automobility LA in 2016, and it maintains strong customer trust indicators, including an BBB A+ rating and an average Yelp rating of 4.8 stars.
