Youth Service America is a nonprofit that activates young people aged 5 to 25 to find their voice, take action, and develop civic and 21st‑century skills to address community needs. The organization supports youth-led projects through campaigns and events, backed by grants, training, resources, and recognition programs for both youth and their adult partners, guided by Awareness, Service, Advocacy, and Philanthropy strategies. It notes that despite high participation rates, a substantial share of youth—particularly from underserved communities and communities of color—remain out of reach, and it works to change that. Based in Washington, D.C., YSA was founded in 1986 and operates within the nonprofit sector focused on youth development and civic engagement. In the last decade, its campaigns and events have engaged more than 3.2 million young people in service. A recent collaboration with Promo Cymru illustrates ongoing partnerships to engage young people on the digital platforms they use most.
