Zaccho Dance Theatre is a dance company that investigates how movement relates to place, building performances from the character of natural, architectural, and cultural environments. The company emphasizes in-depth research into a site's history and context, often inviting local communities to participate in the creative process. A defining aspect of its work is the integration of aerial flight and suspension, expanding the performers' spatial and dynamic possibilities.

Based in San Francisco, California, Zaccho Dance Theatre presents work for local audiences as well as national and international stages, and runs an arts education program for the surrounding community, supported by a relatively small to mid-sized team. The organization was co-founded in 1980 by Artistic Director Joanna Haigood, who had moved to San Francisco from New York a year earlier. Haigood's choreography has been commissioned by prominent arts presenters and is part of the repertoire of the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago.
