The Zanesville Museum of Art is a small-to-mid-sized cultural institution in Zanesville, Ohio that focuses on the visual arts and related historical works. It originated in 1936 when the Zanesville Art Institute was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ayers, whose donation included Old Master paintings, sculpture, prints, Zanesville glass, and ceramics, along with a research library. The organization moved to its current address at 620 Military Road in 1975, becoming the Zanesville Art Center. A 1999 expansion added space for education programs, exhibition galleries, and art storage, broadening its presence in the community. In 2009, the institution adopted the name Zanesville Museum of Art to reflect the size and quality of its permanent collections and its place in the community through the visual arts.
