Das Zentrum für Internationale Friedenseinsätze (ZIF) ist Deutschlands zentraler Ansprechpartner für Zivilpersonal in internationalen Friedens- und Wahlbeobachtungseinsätzen. Im Auftrag von Bundesregierung und Bundestag suchen, trainieren und vermitteln wir zivile Fachkräfte in internationale Friedens- und Wahlbeobachtungseinsätze. Derzeit sind rund 160 ZIF-Expertinnen und -Experten in internationalen Friedenseinsätzen der Europäischen Union (EU), der Organisation für Sicherheit und Zusammenarbeit in Europa (OSZE), den Vereinten Nationen (UN) und der Nordatlantikpakt-Organisation (NATO). Außerdem werden jährlich rund 200 ZIF-Expertinnen und -Experten in internationalen Wahlbeobachtungen eingesetzt. Neben seinen Vermittlungs- und Trainingsangeboten bietet das ZIF Beratung für nationale und internationale Entscheidungsträger und unterstützt den Dialog zwischen Politik und Praxis. Das ZIF versteht Capacity Building als umfassendes Leitziel und Auftrag, sowohl für deutsche Fachkräfte als auch für und mit internationalen Partnern. The Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) is Germany’s central point of reference for civilian expertise for international peace operations. On behalf of the Federal Government of Germany and the Bundestag, ZIF recruits and trains German civilian personnel for international peace operations and international election observation missions. Currently ZIF has about 160 experts deployed to international peace operations of the European Union (EU), the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the United Nations (UN) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Besides its recruiting and training activities, ZIF offers information and advice to national and international decision makers on current and future trends in international peace operations. It promotes and facilitates policy and method development, research activities and knowledge management as well as capacity building.
