The Israel Securities Authority is a regulatory body in Israel responsible for safeguarding investors' interests within the capital markets. Established under the Securities Law of 1968, its mandate includes licensing and supervising market participants and infrastructure, such as portfolio managers, investment advisers, stock exchange members, and trading platforms, as well as authorizing prospectuses for public offerings and for mutual funds' unit offerings. It reviews reports filed by issuers and market participants and conducts investigations and enforcement actions under securities and related laws. It ensures that portfolio managers and non-banking members of the Stock Exchange comply with anti-money laundering regulations and oversees the fair operation of the stock market and trading platforms. In collaboration with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Israel, it funds and operates the Israel Accounting Standards Board; the agency is based in Israel and employs staff in the hundreds.
