12 King’s Bench Walk, known as 12KBW, is a long-established civil set of chambers which has a well-deserved and consistent reputation for excellence in its core areas of practice, in particular personal injury and industrial disease. 12KBW barristers are at the forefront of developments in the law, having been instructed in many of the leading tort cases of recent times. We are professional and dedicated, whilst remaining approachable and friendly. Our barristers come from a range of backgrounds and we are proud of our record of recruitment based purely on merit. We are a large set, with over 80 barristers, including 10 silks, and our aim is to continue our expansion into the future. In contrast to many other civil sets, 12KBW is able to offer a service to clients, both claimants and defendants, from the smallest portal or small claims track case, to the most complex legal point in the Supreme Court or European Court of Justice. We cover civil and employment cases throughout England and Wales, employment cases in Scotland, and a range of cases in other jurisdictions. The depth and breadth of the expertise of our barristers, together with the ethos of working together in the interests of our clients, marks us out in the marketplace. Whilst we are all self-employed barristers, 12KBW has always prided itself on its cohesive and supportive culture. 12KBW is led by Paul Russell QC, Head of Chambers, supported by our Management Committee. 12KBW’s Business Support Team, led by Oliver Parkhouse, Director of Clerking, provides clients and barristers alike with an efficient, proactive and effective service. A number of our barristers sit as judges, including Recorders and Deputy District Judges, act as arbitrators or are qualified mediators.
