1871 is a nonprofit global innovation hub based in Chicago, Illinois, dedicated to supporting innovators across the startup lifecycle—from early-stage through corporate-scale ventures. It serves a community that includes roughly 500 early-stage startups, about 250 growth and late-stage companies, and around 60 corporates, contributing to growth and job creation in the Chicagoland area.

Members engage with workshops, events, mentorship, and other resources in both virtual and in-person formats. To support these activities, the hub maintains a network of about 350 mentors and connects members to a broader ecosystem of more than 200 partner organizations, including corporations, universities, education programs, accelerators, and venture funds. Since its founding in 2012, more than 2,100 alum companies remain active and have created over 18,700 jobs.
