A-1 Alternative Fuel Systems engineers and manufactures alternative fuel systems for all classes of vehicles. A-1 integrates with O.E. chassis manufacturers such as Ford, GM, Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt and Autocar to add alternative fuel powered vehicle options to each manufacturer's product line. From humble beginnings, Mark Gilio and his father-in-law Almindo Feijoo founded A-1 Auto Electric (sister company to A-1 Alternative Fuel Systems) in 1988. Mark and Al had a goal to operate the finest full-service auto repair shop in Fresno. They were able to achieve their goal by building a strong reputation among the community for having unparalleled customer service. For years, air quality has been a growing concern in the Central Valley of California. Mark and Al recognized the problem early on and A-1 Alternative Fuel Systems was born in 1995 as A-1 converted their first vehicle to natural gas. Since then, A-1 has put thousands of alternative fuel vehicles on the road and remains a family owned and operated business headquartered in Fresno, CA.
