Abington – Jefferson Health is the organization that encompasses its flagship hospital, Abington Hospital in Abington, PA and Abington – Lansdale Hospital in Hatfield Township, PA, as well as a number of outpatient settings for obtaining expert medical care in Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

In 2015, Abington Health and Jefferson merged. The combined entity is known as Jefferson Health.

Abington Hospital, founded in 1914, is the largest community teaching hospital in Montgomery or Bucks counties. 

Each year, Abington – Jefferson Health treats 124,000 patients in its two Emergency Departments with Abington Hospital having the distinction as the only Level II trauma center in Montgomery County. Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health has a comprehensive stroke center and offers highly advanced programs in cancer, cardiac and orthopaedic care.

Abington – Jefferson Health employs approximately 6,000 employees who work with 1,400 physicians on staff providing care for residents of Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. In 2014, these professionals cared for 33,729 inpatients, performed 1.7 million outpatient lab tests, 364,000 radiologic tests and had 677,589 total outpatient encounters. Jefferson comprises five hospitals, 13 outpatient and urgent care centers, as well as physician practices and everywhere we deliver care across Philadelphia, Montgomery and Bucks counties in Pa., and Camden County in New Jersey. Together, these facilities serve more than 78,000 inpatients, 238,000 emergency patients and 1.7 million outpatient visits annually. Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is the largest freestanding academic medical center in Philadelphia. Abington Hospital is the largest community teaching hospital in Montgomery or Bucks counties. Other hospitals include Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience; Methodist Hospital; and Abington – Lansdale Hospital.
