The ACLU of Illinois is a nonprofit legal organization dedicated to safeguarding civil liberties in the state. Founded in 1929 and based in Chicago, it operates with the affiliated Roger Baldwin Foundation to defend rights guaranteed by the U.S. and Illinois constitutions, as well as applicable state and federal human rights laws.
