Actors' Equity Association is the U.S. labor union representing more than 51,000 professional actors and stage managers. Based in New York City, with offices in Chicago, Los Angeles and Orlando, it seeks to sustain live theatre as a vital cultural form by negotiating wages, improving working conditions, and providing a range of benefits, including health and pension plans, for its members. The union is part of the broader entertainment industry and is affiliated with AFL-CIO and FIA, with governance through an elected Council that represents three regions: Eastern, Central, and Western, and regional boards. In 2024, Brooke Shields was elected president, with Alvin Vincent, Jr. serving as Executive Director.
