ACUMEN is a small- to mid-sized business consulting and services firm based in Kansas City, Missouri. It operates as the Origination division of Michael E. Gerber Companies, focusing on guidance for would-be entrepreneurs before they start a business, invest capital, or draft a formal plan. By addressing critical early steps, the firm aims to help individuals reduce the risk of early-stage failure and build a solid foundation for launching a venture.

Its core offering includes the Business Accountability Networking Group, or B.A.N.G., a mastermind-style forum designed to provide accountability and peer support. The concept is described as drawing on the historical idea that regular collaboration among successful business people can help participants achieve their goals. With a Kansas City base and a modest size, ACUMEN positions itself as a local provider of structured, pre-launch guidance for aspiring business owners.
