The Addiction Policy Forum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the civic and social sector, based in North Bethesda, Maryland. It was created by families affected by addiction with a mission to eliminate addiction as a major health problem. The organization focuses on helping patients and families in crisis, reducing the stigma surrounding addiction, expanding prevention and early interventions, promoting evidence-based practice, and advancing patient-led research. Most recently, in April 2026, Addiction Policy Forum launched a series of science-backed educational resources to inform the public about cannabis use disorder, its health risks, and the latest research on effective response strategies.
