Adelphoi Village was created in 1971 when a Benedictine monk from St. Vincent Archabbey, motivated by a desire to help troubled and homeless youth, set out with a plan to open a home for boys. Encouraged by friends and community members, Father Paschal Morlino, OSB, created a place of hope and healing for boys whose lives had taken alternative paths. This program, which he called Adelphoi, began a course of events that would change the lives of children and families for years to come. From the skeleton of that very first group home, Adelphoi grew and prospered, adding more and more services as the need grew. Today, Adelphoi Village provides an extensive network of community based programs and services to over 1,200 youth and families on a daily basis, and over 2,500 annually. Programs and services include: aftercare, alumni support, in-home services, Multisystemic Therapy (MST), high-fidelity wraparound services, PTSD services, day treatment, after-school programs, vocational education, kinship care, diagnostic services, adoption, SWAN services, foster care, specialized independent living, short-term residential, shelter care, substance abuse group home, offender group homes, intensive supervision group homes, and secure care. All of these services overlap to form a complete continuum of care for children, youth, and families.
