Adena Health System is an independent, not-for-profit health care organization based in Chillicothe, Ohio, serving nine counties in south central and southern Ohio. It operates four hospitals, six regional clinics, and multiple primary care, specialty clinics and urgent care locations, offering services in areas such as cancer, heart, orthopedics, pediatrics and women’s health. The system organizes its workforce around physicians, caregivers and volunteers to meet local health needs. Adena has pursued collaborations to expand health care education and career pathways, most recently through a February 2026 partnership with Shawnee State University, marked by a ribbon-cutting at the PACCAR Medical Education Center.
