Genesis HealthCare System is an integrated health care delivery network based in Southeastern Ohio. It centers on Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, a not-for-profit facility, and comprises several centers of excellence and clinical programs, including Respiratory, Women’s & Children’s, Emergency & Trauma, Cancer Services, Neurosciences & Orthopedics, and the Heart and Vascular Institute, supported by a network of physicians. The system also operates multiple outpatient care centers across the region and maintains affiliations with partners such as Northside Pharmacies, Northside Oxygen & Medical Equipment Company, Genesis Community Ambulance Service, and Genesis Children’s Center. Recent initiatives include collaborations with Zane State College and Muskingum University to grow the regional healthcare workforce, as well as a Lifeline of Ohio partnership to support births by C-section. Genesis has been recognized as one of the Most Wired hospitals of 2025 by CHIME and earned multiple American Heart Association stroke awards that year, including Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite. Earlier in 2026, the system launched a new messaging and communication system to better protect sensitive patient information.
